Book Tour - Boyhood Among the Wool

Please join us as Richard Etulain, PhD discusses his new book, “Boyhood Among the Woolies: Growing up on a Basque Sheep Ranch”.

Dr. Etulain was born August 26, 1938, in Wapato, Washington. The son of a Basque immigrant livestock man and a sod house frontier mother, he was reared on a sheep ranch in eastern Washington. After public schools in Washington, he gained double majors in English and history (with high honors) at Northwest Nazarene College (1955-60). He completed a master’s in American literature in 1962 and received his PhD in American history and literature in 1966—both at the University of Oregon. He spent nearly 40 years as a classroom instructor in history, English, and American Studies Departments at Northwest Nazarene College (now University), Idaho State University, and the University of New Mexico.
